How to bid

NOTE: You are responsible for your account. No matter who places bids from your account, you are the party responsible.

You must be signed in to place a bid.

On the asset page, enter a bid amount in the bid field, and then click “Bid Now.”

On the bid confirmation message, review the bid amount, if the bid amount is correct, and you agree with the sellers terms, select “Agree & Confirm Your Bid.” If the bid amount is wrong, or you do not agree with the sellers terms, select “Cancel this Bid.”

Unless you “un-check” the Autobid check box, the bid will be received as a “Autobid.”

Our Autobid feature will allow you to set a limit as to how high you are willing to bid on an item.

Any time you are outbid on this item, the system will automatically place a bid for you, up to your set limit.

At any time, you may lower your auto bid amount to the “minimum bid” amount or higher.


Notifications if outbid

To be notified if outbid; before placing your bid, check the box to be notified by email if outbid. Currently we do not notify via text.

Please note that your email may be placed into a spam or junk folder, and could be delivered after the auction closes


Can I retract a bid?

No, bids are binding contracts.

If you have a max autobid in place, please lower it to the minimum bid amount.

This will increase your chances of becoming out bid.

If you win the auction, please contact the seller at once.


How to increase or decrease a bid

To increase a bid: Place an amount equal to or higher than the minimum bid amount shown on the asset page.

To decrease an auto bid: Place an amount equal to or higher than the  minimum bid amount shown on the asset page.

***You may not enter a bid amount lower than the minimum bid amount***


Reserve

reserve price is a hidden minimum price. This is the lowest price that the seller is willing to accept for the item.

If the listing ends without any bids that meet the reserve price, the seller is not required to sell the item.

As a buyer, you are not shown the reserve price.

 

Trouble-shooting issues

 Message received:

“Your bid is not in the correct format”

This means you have entered a dollar sign, or comma. Here is an example: (Correct) 1000 (Incorrect) $1,000.00

 

“You are not authorized to bid on this item”

This is a restricted auction. The restriction type is displayed in the red strip below the photos. Click on the restricted auctions link, to read more on this.

 

“Your account is on probation, you are limited to … open auctions”

Your account is on probation, all accounts start on probation. Learn more about the probation policy by clicking the probation link.

 

No bid field

This means you are not logged in, or you are not on the “asset page”

In the red strip, click on “log in”. If logged in, and you do not see a bid box, click on the description of the item to open the “asset page”

When an auction has a “Buy Now” price, you can purchase that item right away by clicking on the Buy Now button. Simply confirm the final bid price and your purchase will be confirmed. You will be directed to the Lots Won page and can complete the payment transaction.

Why did the bid increment change on the auction that I was bidding on?

 

Most sellers have a new feature called Dynamic Bid Increments set up on their auctions. This feature enables our system to automatically set and adjust the bid increment for each auction. These increments are based on the starting bid, current bid, or reserve price. As the current bid increases, the system will adjust the bid increments accordingly.

A buyer certificate has been sent to the email address on file. This may end up in your junk or spam folder.  You may also access the buyer certificate via these steps:

 

1. Click “Sign In” (upper, right-hand corner)

2. Click your name, then click “My Bids”

3. Refer to “Lots Won”

4. Locate your asset, then click “Certificate”

This is a negotiated sale between buyer and seller. Bidders can submit a bid, which will be presented to the seller for review. All bidders will be notified if any bid is accepted or rejected.

Sellers set their own payment terms.
Some sellers require that payment be made to them directly, while others use the automated system through the website.
It’s important to read the payment terms prior to bidding to make sure that you can follow through with the sale.

Online Payment

1. Login.

2. At the top, click your name, then click “My Bids.”

3. Refer to “Lots Won.”

4. Locate the asset, then select the box beside it.

5. Click “Checkout.”

6. Select payment type.

Payment types offered, unless otherwise stated on the asset details page:

  • Credit card
  • PayPal
  • Wire transfer
  • Cashier’s Check/Money Order

NOTE: A wire transfer must be made for any amount over $4,999.99, and cannot be made via Western Union. Those who registered after 3/27/2019 and are on level one probation will be limited to $1,000 if paying with credit card.
NOTE: You may add any won auction(s) to an invoice when you’re creating the invoice (some restrictions apply), but you may not split payments once an invoice is created.

How to register

1. In the red field, select “register”
2. Fill out the Bidder Registration form
NOTE: We attempt to validate each registrant and may require additional information.

  • Enter a username. (Do not use your email, website address, or company name)

  • Enter your email address in the Email and Verify Email fields

  • Enter your full First name and full Last name

  • Select a country if outside the United States

  • Enter your home address

  • Enter the city where you reside

  • Select your State/Province

  • Enter your postal code

  • Enter a phone number where you can receive a call or text in this format: 555-555-5555

  • Select how you wish to receive your temporary password

  • Select Reseller/Dealer or End User

  • If Reseller/Dealer enter business name and select number of employees

  • Read the terms and conditions

  • Click on I disagree or I agree to the terms and conditions

  • A pop up will appear with your address, select one

3. Retrieve the email or text that was sent to you containing your temporary password
4. Use the link embedded in the email or text to return to an activation page. Enter your temporary password and then a permanent password to activate your account.
5. Log in with your username password


Trouble-shooting issues

 Message received:

“This username is already in use. Please select a different username”

This means that the username you are entering has already been used, please select a different username

 

“Username must be alphanumeric and can contain underscores (‘_’)”

The username must contain numbers, and letters, the only character allowed is an underscore (_)

 

“Username may not resemble your email address, a website, or company name”

You may not register with your email address, a company name, or website. 

 

“This email is already in use. Please select a different email address”

This means you are already registered with this or another marketplace.

Once you have been issued a Load Out Advice / Authorization for Release, please refer to the Site/Yard Contact section.  Please contact the individual(s) listed in order to setup a removal/pick-up appointment.

Please note:  Unless otherwise stated on the asset details page, the asset must be removed/picked-up within 10 business days from the award date.  In the event that the asset is not removed/picked-up within the timeframe established, it will be declared abandoned.

To review your saved search, please follow these steps:

1) Click “Welcome,…,” located in the upper, right-hand corner.

2) Click “Saved Searches.”

3) Within your saved search, you can choose “LATEST ONLINE” and/or “ENDING SOON.”

– Latest Online will send you an e-mail everyday around 5:00 a.m. Eastern Time with everything new in your search since the last e-mail.

– Ending Soon will send you an e-mail everyday around 5:00 a.m. Eastern Time with everything that will close in the next 24 hours.

4) Click the box next to “Yes, I would like to receive email communications…”

5) Click the “Update Saved Searches” button.

Bidders are provided a specific time frame in which to submit bids. These bids are hidden from all participants. When the bidding period is closed the bids are opened simultaneously, and the seller decides which bid to accept. The winning bid need not be the highest.

Unless otherwise noted, most sellers do not ship, pack, or palletize.  Before bidding, please contact the seller regarding shipping and removal.

Exporting

Export compliance is the responsibility of the buyer.

Transactions take place within a sovereign country. If the buyer wishes to export the assets they have purchased, they must comply with all export laws.

Customs is a government agency that is responsible for regulating shipments entering a country. All shipments being sent to and from a country must clear customs first.  The buyer is responsible for paying any additional costs such as duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees.

 

International Buyers

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.  Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.

Can’t Find What You’re Looking For?
