Over 1 800 vehicles sold on behalf of Eastern Cape Transport

Eastern Cape Transport Case Study
R 0 Million

Annually, the Eastern Cape Transport identifies close to 1 000 vehicles that are considered unserviceable, obsolete or redundant. The list of assets includes passenger vehicles, busses, ambulances bakkies and even scrap. Faced with such a large volume of surplus equipment and parts, the Eastern Cape Transport Department required a partner to assist them in disposing these assets, whilst raising capital to use towards upgrading the existing fleet.

In 2020 the Eastern Cape Government first partnered with Liquidity Services. We were required to manage all aspects of the sale including valuation, marketing, preparing the assets up until the final auction. To generate interest in the assets, we launched strategic marketing campaigns, leveraging proven methods such as editorials, email marketing, social media, and Google ad campaigns. All auction lots where loaded to AllSurplus, our global marketplace which included detailed descriptions and photos of each vehicle. This reached numerous buyers from all over the country.

In just a years time, we have helped the Eastern Cape Government dispose of over 1800 vehicles. For each of these sales, we have managed to draw a significant audience on the day. Consequently, raising a considerable amount of capital for the client over the years. By managing the asset on behalf of the Eastern Cape Transport Department, we allow the Department to focus on keeping the roads of the Eastern Cape safe.
